Le montature sono disponibili in diverse taglie. Se osservi all'interno di una tua montatura, probabilmente noterai indicati due o tre numeri.

Il primo numero (normalmente tra 48 e 58) è la larghezza della lente. Il secondo (normalmente tra 15 e 25) è la larghezza del ponte, ovvero la distanza tra le lenti. Maggiore è il numero, maggiore è la distanza. L'ultimo (normalmente tra 135 e 150) è la lunghezza delle astine. Se provando gli occhiali hai notato che le astine non poggiano bene, dovresti cercare occhiali con una lunghezza dell'asta di almeno 145 mm.
